Securing Oil and Gas Production in the Middle East
Oil and Gas producers in the Middle East are prime targets for daily cyberattack. The emergence of the Industrial Internet of things and convergence of IT and OT networks have made it extremely complex to implement strong security. Many security organizations in the Middle East are currently faced with the dilemma of either isolating their control systems and losing access to vital operational data or remaining connected and risking cyber-attack.
For the last 10 years, Owl Cyber Defense continues its commitment to the Middle East, one of the fastest growing markets for oil and gas cybersecurity, by expanding our presence with a local team, partners and building new relationships in the region.
Owl’s Cybersecurity Solutions and Services
Owl can help you secure your industrial oil and gas environments in use cases like upstream/downstream, drilling, distribution, exploration, and system monitoring/alarms and events. Owl data diodes, cross domain solutions and one-way transfer devices can be deployed at the network boundary or to protect a single device/machine. Our solutions also protect against the disruption of digital assets, promising operational success with no downtime, freeing organizations and ops teams to confidently focus on production goals.
Professional Services and Support
As a trusted advisor to the NSA, Red Hat, IBM, and other high-assurance security customers, Owl services provide our customers with the high integrity security that meets the challenges of the most demanding environments in the world.
From flexible mandatory access controls in SELinux, to known good filtering and deep content inspection, our local team can work with you to design, build, deploy, and support certification and accreditation activities for your environment. Our qualified engineers are dedicated to supporting our customers pre and post installation.

Owl Team | Middle East
Present in the region for 10 years, Owl offers a broad range of solutions and services to some of the largest oil and gas producers in the Middle East. Our data diodes network security solutions are now deployed not only in oil and gas, but in desalination water facilities, power generation sites, petrochemical operations, and various government agencies. Since the Shamoon virus attacks in 2012 (and again in 2016 and 2017), data diodes have been trusted and deployed by many asset owners at hundreds of sites in the region.
With the continuing threats of malware and cyber-attacks, Owl continues to work with asset owners to secure their critical infrastructure and help to prevent such a devastating attack from ever happening again in any organization.
Owl serves the world’s largest critical infrastructure with technology solutions and services, making the Middle East region one of the company’s fastest-growing markets.

How Our Technology Works
Owl’s network security solutions are designed using a multi-layered, patented approach. Each data diode solution is a hardware-enforced cybersecurity device designed with two separate circuits – one send-only, and one receive-only. These circuits physically constrain the transfer of data to one direction only, from a source network to a destination network.
Owl data diode cybersecurity products provide hardware-enforced one-way data transfer and assured security against malware, ransomware, control override, and other forms of cyberattack. Owl products are currently in use by hundreds of customers in the U.S. intelligence, military, and government communities; utilities and energy; and commercial enterprises.
