Validated & Accredited Network Security

Owl government products are designed to provide deterministic one-way data transfer, for both low-to-high and high-to-low use cases, and feature built-in data verification and filtering capabilities based on supported data type(s). Products include streaming, file transfer, and multi-purpose options, validated and accredited for use in government, defense, and intelligence applications.

Proprietary Software for Owl Cross Domain Solutions

Remote File Transfer Service

RFTS is a secure file transfer application with client/server architecture that identifies and securely moves files from the source network, across the network security boundary via the data diode or cross domain solution, to directories on the destination network.

Owl Log Forwarding Service

OLFS provides a secure, automated method for the collection of performance data from an Owl data diode, enabling monitoring and examination of all system activities as well as any transfer applications operating on the data diode.

Owl Failover Service

OFLS is a software application that ensures the high availability of UDP stream cross domain transfers, utilizing two Owl Cross Domain Solutions (OCDS) devices. OFLS is designed for government operations that require the high-availability of critical services (including one-way and cross domain transfers) in operational environments.

About Owl Cross Domain Solutions

Owl CDSs transfer data one-way, between organizations and systems operating at different security classifications (e.g., Unclassifed and Secret) or trust environments (e.g., Internet and Restricted Enclaves). That one-way transfer provides absolute separation and prevents any possible malicious or inadvertent leakage of sensitive data from or insertion of attack vectors into the destination infrastructure.

For example, time sensitive data collection of: imagery and geospatial data, electronic signals, intelligence, scientific, or technical information, open source data, voice and video media streams, dev-ops archive migrations, and fixed format messaging.

Owl CDS products are comprised of patented hardware and software components that include data verification methods (filters, checksums, etc.) and have been tailored to meet specific mission requirements. At the heart of each solution is our proprietary data diode design which provides a hardware based, deterministic one-way only transfer of data. All Owl CDS products have been accredited and validated for operational use.

ITAR RESTRICTIONS

It is the policy of the United States to deny licenses and other approvals for exports and imports of defense articles and defense services, destined for or originating in certain countries. Owl Government Products are restricted by 22 U.S.C. 2778 of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and Executive Order 13637. The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR,” 22 CFR 120-130) implements the AECA. Export Licenses for ITAR controlled items are processed through a form DSP-5 for permanent or temporary export. This includes screening clients that are in or associated with Sanctioned or Embargoed countries. Additionally, there are certain “End-Use Controls” which prohibit exports to certain countries.

Miniaturized Cross Domain Solution (MCDS)

MCDS is designed to provide the robust capabilities of Owl’s cross domain solutions in a miniaturized form factor. With the capability to isolate networks, transfer data from Unclassified to Secret networks, this miniaturized solution is designed to satisfy the requirements of highly mobile, tactical missions. Its small size, weight and power (SWaP) profile makes it perfect for dismounted soldiers, embedded vehicle computers or any other environments where size and weight considerations are critical.

MCDS in Action

Assets on the ground collect field data on a secured tablet device. To send the collected data back to an enclave for analysis, an MCDS is utilized to transmit the data one-way to the enclave, without exposing the tablet to external access. The deterministic, hardware-enforced device provides the highest assurance of confidentiality and data integrity.

MDRS in Action

In a H2L “browse-down” scenario, users in a Top Secret secure enclave need access to elements of very large files in an unclassified domain. The Owl MDRS enables these users to access pieces of these files from the Top Secret domain without having to transfer the entire file into the user enclave.
