Ridgefield, CT, October 16, 2018 – Owl Cyber Defense Solutions, LLC (“Owl”), the market leader in data diode network cybersecurity solutions, has announced its commitment to raising awareness on the importance of cybersecurity throughout the month of October in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Stop.Think.Connect campaign. This global online safety awareness program is designed to help all digital citizens stay safer and more secure online.
Owl’s commitment to the program includes creating a partnership with Sacred Heart University’s School of Computer Science and Engineering to host a series of colloquia seminars around a wide variety of cybersecurity topics, led by Owl’s Director of Marketing and Product Management, Scott Coleman.
“As part of the Cybersecurity Colloquia Series, we are happy to be collaborating with Owl Cyber Defense to help celebrate the DHS National Cyber Security Awareness Month via an educational seminar on data diode cybersecurity technology and its potential in protecting critical infrastructure systems against cyber-attacks,” said Dr. Sajal Bhatia, PhD, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity, Sacred Heart University School of Computer Science and Engineering.
The first seminar titled, “THE LOCK IS THE KEY: How unhackable data diode cybersecurity is unlocking the potential of critical systems,” is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. on the Sacred Heart University Fairfield, CT campus. Students, faculty and the public are invited to attend and learn about the importance of securing critical data and systems. In addition to the speaking engagement, the company plans to participate at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Cyber Day on October 23rd in Chantilly, VA. This is part of an event series supporting the DHS overarching campaign for the month of October to highlight the need for cybersecurity awareness in the workforce. Training sessions, product and services showcase will also be held on-site.
Owl Cyber Defense also plans to post content around the NCSAM campaign on a consistent basis throughout the month of October, igniting a debate on social media on why cybersecurity is a shared responsibility in organizations and society.
