About Owl Cross Domain Solutions

Owl CDSs transfer data one-way, between organizations and systems operating at different security classifications (e.g., Unclassifed and Secret) or trust environments (e.g., Internet and Restricted Enclaves). That one-way transfer provides absolute separation and prevents any possible malicious or inadvertent leakage of sensitive data from or insertion of attack vectors into the destination infrastructure.

For example, time sensitive data collection of: imagery and geospatial data, electronic signals, intelligence, scientific, or technical information, open source data, voice and video media streams, dev-ops archive migrations, and fixed format messaging.

Owl CDS products are comprised of patented hardware and software components that include data verification methods (filters, checksums, etc.) and have been tailored to meet specific mission requirements. At the heart of each solution is our proprietary data diode design which provides a hardware based, deterministic one-way only transfer of data. All Owl CDS products have been accredited and validated for operational use.

ITAR RESTRICTIONS

It is the policy of the United States to deny licenses and other approvals for exports and imports of defense articles and defense services, destined for or originating in certain countries. Owl Government Products are restricted by 22 U.S.C. 2778 of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and Executive Order 13637. The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR,” 22 CFR 120-130) implements the AECA. Export Licenses for ITAR controlled items are processed through a form DSP-5 for permanent or temporary export. This includes screening clients that are in or associated with Sanctioned or Embargoed countries. Additionally, there are certain “End-Use Controls” which prohibit exports to certain countries.

Miniaturized Cross Domain Solutions (MCDS)

MCDS is designed to provide the robust capabilities of Owl’s cross domain solutions in a miniaturized form factor. With the capability to isolate networks, transfer data from Unclassified to Secret networks, this miniaturized solution is designed to satisfy the requirements of highly mobile, tactical missions. Its small size, weight and power (SWaP) profile makes it perfect for dismounted soldiers, embedded vehicle computers or any other environments where size and weight considerations are critical.

Multi-Level Data Retrieval Solution (MDRS)

MDRS maintains secure and isolated domains while requesting and accessing files, providing a way for analysts to quickly and seamlessly access files in other domains without having to wait for data requisitions to be completed. It modifies the traditional two-way communication used by the Network File Sharing protocol and separates it into two discrete, single direction paths (request & response). Each path passes through a data diode, which protects the integrity of each network while allowing files to be exchanged between them.
