Celebrating 25 Years: The Power of People and Innovation

This year, as we celebrate 25 years of innovation and leadership at Owl Cyber Defense, I find myself reflecting on the critical shifts that have shaped our journey. Over the past quarter-century, we have grown and evolved, but one thing has remained constant: the dedication and expertise of our team, which has been the foundation of our success. At the Owl Evolution Summit on November 14, we’ll showcase this legacy of innovation and the talented people who have driven our mission forward.
Our customers rely on us to secure critical infrastructure, government networks, and much more. That trust is built on the expertise, innovation, and commitment of our entire team. Nearly half of Owl’s employees have been with the company for five years or more, and many who left have chosen to return, underscoring that Owl is more than just a workplace—it’s a mission-driven community. This longevity reflects an environment where talent and innovation are valued, and collaboration thrives.

What makes our journey even more remarkable is that many of the original innovators who contributed to breakthroughs in CDS and data diodes are still part of Owl today. Members of our team were instrumental in developing Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux), a key initiative that introduced open-source security to critical national systems. Their pioneering work laid the foundation for Data Format Description Language (DFDL), which gives our customers enhanced control and flexibility in cross-domain environments. In fact, the world’s top DFDL specialists are part of the Owl team.

Our team also pioneered the first exportable cross-domain solution, enabling secure collaboration between international partners. In addition, innovators who patented our cutting-edge data diodes work alongside engineers, developers, and problem-solvers who continue to push the boundaries of cybersecurity. Together, we’ve set the industry benchmark for secure one-way data transfers and cross-domain solutions, continuing to deliver innovations that address the most complex challenges our customers face. These collective contributions reflect the dedication and talent of the entire Owl team, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation.

As we celebrate our 25-year milestone, we are proud not only of the technology we’ve created but also of the people who have made it all possible. The expertise and creativity we’ve cultivated over decades ensure that our customers remain secure, agile, and prepared for whatever challenges lie ahead. And as always, it’s our people—the innovators, the problem-solvers, and the pioneers—who make it all happen.

I invite you to join us at the Owl Evolution Summit on November 14 to see firsthand how our history of innovation and the expertise of our team continue to shape the future of cybersecurity. Our cutting-edge solutions ensure the safety and security of our communities and families—our very way of life. This is why we innovate, and we look forward to sharing this journey with you.
